Ready... Set...
It’s the night before my surgery. I’ve packed (5 sets of pajamas) for the hospital and to stay at my folks for a few days of recovery. I’ve gotten all my paperwork together (I think) and filled out my healthcare directive and made out my will (just in case).
I’ve been in a maudlin mood all day and the stress has sort of put me on the edge of tears more than a few times....

A Date
They finally scheduled me for a surgery date for my lap-band surgery. Hard to believe the date is actually set now: December 29. I expected a lot more excitement about this all, frankly. Right now I’m just feeling calm acceptance. This will likely change as the day gets closer. For the better part of a year I have fought for this, prayed for it, hoped for it, slayed a dozen dragons for it....
